Yoga and Therapy Methods for Coping with Pain

Sessions
The first step to working towards a therapeutic approach to pain is to schedule a session and an assessment.  From this assessment I can better determine what course of action the therapy will take using my 30 years of experience and training.  Most often clients book a structural integration session that includes assessment, treatment, techniques specific to your needs to do at home, and post treatment followup.  To schedule an appointment contact me: 021871818 or email quanyinyogini@gmail.com

The spine is often the focus of an assessment as it is the main circuit board of musculo-skeletal action and the conduit for electro-magnetic energy.  It is also a conduit of consciousness and so dysfunction affects our mental and emotional states too. If the spine is held in a crooked position through patterns of habit then the ribs, pelvis, shoulders, internal organs and breathing are directly affected.  Knee and hip pain can be a result of the thigh position, weakness in feet or spinal tension. The result of bad posture is dysfunctional use that can lead to chronic pain.

In a session I observe overall alignment and spinal muscle tensions. The tensions may first be addressed through lengthening with some simple gravity assisted yoga positions.  Massage therapy may be suggested to assist the process.  The approach is gentle yet challenging. I work with you to release the tension at the deepest level, to decompress and reduce stress and tension.  I work with you to unravel the patterns and re-train the spine.  The results can be profound.
